At ProofMark, we strive to provide exceptional watermarking and image protection services. This Refund Policy outlines the circumstances under which refunds may be issued for our Pro subscription plan.

2. Free Plan

The Free Plan does not involve any payment and therefore is not subject to refunds. Users may cancel their Free Plan account at any time without any obligations.

3. Pro Plan Subscription

Monthly Billing: The Pro Plan is billed at $9.99 per month with automatic renewal.

Founding Member Pricing: Early subscribers who lock in the $9.99/month rate retain this pricing as long as they maintain continuous subscription.

4. Refund Eligibility

4.1 First-Time Subscribers

If you are a first-time subscriber and are unsatisfied with the Pro Plan within the first 7 days of your initial subscription, you may request a full refund.

4.2 Technical Issues

If you experience persistent technical problems that prevent you from using core features of the Service, and our support team is unable to resolve the issue within a reasonable timeframe, you may be eligible for a prorated refund.

4.3 Billing Errors

If you are charged incorrectly due to a billing error on our part, we will issue a full refund for the erroneous charge.

5. Refund Ineligibility

Refunds will NOT be issued in the following circumstances:

  • After 7-Day Period: Refund requests made more than 7 days after the initial subscription date (for first-time subscribers)
  • Renewal Charges: Automatic renewal charges for existing subscribers (you must cancel before the renewal date)
  • Usage-Based Ineligibility: If you have extensively used the Service (e.g., processed hundreds of watermarks) during the refund-eligible period
  • Violation of Terms: If your account was terminated due to violation of our Terms of Service
  • Change of Mind: General dissatisfaction or change of mind after the 7-day period
  • Partial Months: We do not offer prorated refunds for partial subscription periods, except in cases of technical issues attributable to ProofMark

6. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund:

    • Your registered email address
    • Subscription start date
    • Reason for refund request
    • Any relevant details or screenshots (for technical issues)
  3. Our team will review your request within 2-3 business days
  4. If approved, refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 5-10 business days

7. Cancellation vs. Refund

7.1 Cancellation: You may cancel your Pro Plan subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting support. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period.

7.2 No Automatic Refund: Canceling your subscription does not automatically entitle you to a refund. You will continue to have access to Pro features until the end of your billing period.

7.3 Reactivation: If you cancel and later wish to reactivate, you may do so, but Founding Member pricing may no longer be available if there has been a gap in subscription.

8. Chargebacks and Disputes

If you dispute a charge with your bank or credit card company (chargeback) without first contacting us:

  • Your account may be immediately suspended pending resolution
  • You may lose access to all watermarked images and forensic proof records
  • Founding Member pricing may be forfeited
  • Future subscription may be denied

We strongly encourage you to contact us directly before initiating a chargeback.

9. Service Credits

In certain circumstances where a refund is not applicable, we may offer service credits at our discretion. Service credits:

  • Can be applied to future subscription payments
  • Are non-transferable and have no cash value
  • Expire if your account is closed
  • Cannot be combined with other promotions unless explicitly stated

10. Subscription Management Best Practices

To avoid unwanted charges:

  • Set a reminder before your renewal date if you're considering cancellation
  • Cancel at least 24 hours before your next billing date
  • Monitor your email for renewal notifications
  • Keep your payment information up to date to avoid failed payment fees
  • Review your subscription status regularly in your account settings

11. Technical Issues Resolution

Before requesting a refund due to technical issues:

  • Contact our support team with detailed information about the problem
  • Allow us reasonable time (typically 48-72 hours) to investigate and resolve the issue
  • Try suggested troubleshooting steps provided by our support team
  • Provide screenshots or error messages if applicable
